Beijing's climate is defined as "continental monsoon." Beijing has distinctive four seasons. In spring time, Beijing is a bit dusty and windy. Spring is short here and excursions are a popular form of tourism. Summer is hot, but the hot weather is short-lived, plus, rainfall is plentiful. Autumn, lasting about 50 days, is the best season for tourism and the temperature is mild and the sun is out a lot. July to September is the wet season and the average yearly temperature is 56°F (13°C). Spring and autumn are favourite times to travel to Xi'an, though generally the weather is pleasant year round.

So if you can take the same clothes, at Beijing and xi’an . Autumn finds jeans and a sweater enough for you. In the warmer months of summer, T-shirts and light pants or shorts are the best choice. In winter, it is a good idea to dress in layers: long underwear and jeans, shirt, sweater and down jacket. If you want to travel to the outskirts of Beijing in the cold monthes, you can buy a thick cotton army coat and a fur hat. Rain gear is necessary if you travel during the summer months.

The best time to visit Guilin is between April and October. During this time, the area is at its most green. 

The most important thing to know about Guilin (and Yangshuo) weather is that it can get very hot, humid, and it rains a lot! The average temperature for the year is 19.3 centigrade with a July average temperature of 28.3 degrees. The average rainfall for the year is 192.6 cm per month.

Shanghai's weather is moderate (annual average temperature is about 15 degrees centigrade) and the seasons are not as distinct as in the North. Shanghai is characterized by a warm spring, hot summer, cool autumn and cold winter.

Shanghai receives abundant rainfall and the average annual precipitation is over 1000 cm. The "Plum Flower Rain" season is from mid-June to early July with an average daily rainfall of 259 mm. During July and September, strong storms with torrential rain become frequent. However, it seldom snows in Shanghai.

Shanghai summers are hot and humid. July and August are Shanghai's hottest months with average highs of 27.4 degrees centigrade.

In winter, January is the coldest month, with a temperature average of 3 degrees centigrade.

Tips:

It is best to go prepared for the tour,you need with light clothing in summer and warm, heavy clothing in winter. Also, always prepare for rain by keeping an umbrella.

Tibet travel climate

As all we know, the Tibetan latitude is higher and the climate is very cold .It is suitable for travel to Tibet from April to November, and the best time for traveling in Tibetan is from August to September. But if you only visit Lhasa , you can go there anytime around the year.
Sun radiation is extremely strong in Tibet. May, June and September are the tourism season in east Tibet. Most annual rainfall falls from June to September. Usually rains come in the evening in Lhasa, Shigatse area. Sometimes, the rainfall may block roads and make travel difficult but the views at that time will be the most beautiful.
Tips:

November to April warm clothing and May and October light clothing required. Though a jacket and warm pullover are always necessary. Take shirts, comfortable walking shoes, long johns, trousers and shirts, sweaters, jackets, dust mask, socks sunglasses, sun tan lotion knife, water bottle/thermos flashlight, water purification tabs, medicine for headaches, fever, cold stomach disorders, etc.

Silk road climate

The cities of the silk road mostly is located at northwest of china, have a continental monsoon climate, with four separate seasons. Northern part of China is dry and windy. It is suitable for travel to the silk road from April to November, and the best time for traveling is July , August and September. Sun radiation is very strong in Urumqi, Dunhuang. July, August and September are the peak Season in the silk road. Most annual rainfall falls from June to September.

Urumqi has four distinctive seasons, with the hottest time being July and August while coldest time is January . A feature of the climate is the great difference in temperature between daytime and night. A coat or sweater is needed during night even in the sweltering hot summer. The best time to travel the region is from May to October.   

In July, August and September the tourist season, you will need a cool cotton garments ,long jacket, and sun umbrella or suntan oil. And other monthes you will visit silk road ,you should take warm sweater ,light cotton-patted coat , warm underwear , Woolen shirts, Gloves, Warm hat & Scarves. but in the north a heavy woolen coat or down parka is a must.

　　Later spring and late summer are often rainy especially in the southern part of China, so you would be wise to bring some rainwear with you. And of course good walking shoes are essential at any time of year.
